Dr. Donna April Serure is a Board Certified Dermatologist in private practice in Smithtown, New York. Dr. Serure specializes in adult, adolescent and pediatric dermatology. As a specialist in the field of dermatology, Dr. Serure diagnoses and treats all types of skin conditions including but not limited to; skin cancer, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, acne, warts and dysplastic nevi, to name a few. As president of Laserderm™ Centre of Long Island, Dr. Serure specializes in the most advanced cosmetic procedures and dermatologic laser surgery. Some procedures she performs include: tattoo removal, laser treatments for; hair removal, Acne Scars, Skin Tightening and Wrinkle Reduction, IPL photo facials, collagen, Botox®, Hylaform®, Radiesse™, leg vein therapy, port wine stains, photo rejuvenation, glycolic acid peels and Microdermabrasion.
In November of 2001, Dr. Serure was chosen to head the Department of Dermatology for St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center in Smithtown, New York. In her capacity as chairperson, she is responsible for reviewing the credentials of all dermatologists on staff with the hospital, maintaining the ethics of the department and furthering the community’s awareness of skin cancer and skin disease.
Dr. Serure completed an extensive training program at St. Barnabas Hospital/New York Hospital/Cornell Medical Center Affiliate, where she was elected Chief Dermatology resident. Dr. Serure has received the most comprehensive training in this field and is an excellent diagnostician. With impeccable skills and a compassionate approach, you will find her to be a very caring and sincere physician.
Prior to specializing in dermatology, Dr. Serure completed two years of Family Practice Medicine. Dr. Serure graduated with honors from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. A summa cum laude graduate of Long Island University/C.W. Post, she was elected to Phi Theta Kappa and Pi Alpha Sigma. She maintains active membership in the: American Academy of Dermatology, American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, American Osteopathic Association, American Society for MOHS Surgery, the Long Island Dermatology Society and the Suffolk County Dermatologic Society. A native of Long Island, Dr. Serure was born and raised in Stony Brook, New York and now lives with her husband and two children in Dix Hills, New York.
Dr. Serure can be reached during office hours, by appointment only. In addition, Dr. Serure employs; an aesthetician, two physician assistants and two physicians including a MOHS micrographic surgeon who specializes in treating skin cancers. We participate with most insurance plans and are open Monday through Saturday and offer late evening hours for our patient’s convenience.
